Condolence: My deepest condolences to your family and friends on this very sad news.
I am so glad Robert knew that his fans have never forgotten him, I know I never have. Though I was only five when Voyage was first shown in the UK and my Dad said it was the only time I would stop talking and that I would tell everyone to keep quiet as I sat goggle eyed at our black and white tv, facinated by Voyage, the XO and the Captain. Till this day it remains my favourite programme and always will be.
🕯Rest In Peace Robert🕯Thank you for all the pleasure you gave us during your career.

Condolence: As a teenager I loved watching Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. The two characters I most cherished were Admiral Nelson (Richard Basehart) and Chip Morton (Robert Dowdell). There was something about Robert's stature and demeanor that made him perfect for the part. As a man, he distinguished himself by his love for animals and his respect for people.
A gentleman in every sense of the word, Robert was a gifted and talented actor and human being. To say he will be missed would be an understatement. God bless his loved ones and may his soul rest in the arms of God.
