this hit me hard because Al was the only grandfather I had growing up. my mom's dad passed away when she was only 12, so I didn't have him growing up. Al and Janet's son, Steven, was the only real father I had growing up, he was there for me since I was three years old before passing away May of 2013. although I recently reconnected with my biological father's dad, I didn't have him growing up. I just wanted to share the fact that Al was the only grandfather I had growing up, and the fact that my mother, Billie Jo Shauger, who was married to Al and Janet's son before passing, were not mentioned in the survivors is honestly upsetting and ridiculous because after Steven passed away, it seemed as if we weren't considered family anymore because besides a weekly phone call and a surprise visit in 2014 that my mom and I took up to Michigan to see them, most communication stopped and so did the cards and family get togethers. thank you to my grandma Janet and aunt and uncle for not including us in the obituary under the survivors.
