My dearest Daddy

I am writing you this when so many memories are fresh in my mind afraid I will forget one. I am blessed to have had you as my father. We had our times but the past 14 years have been the best. The last 18 months you have been such a strong man I admire. These 18 months you have been through so much and yet you didn't complain of pain but 3 times. Gosh.. Its only been 18 hours since I held your hand and told you it was ok to leave. I know the pain you never wanted to mention is gone and I am sure you are in heaven teaching GOD how to hunt, you were so good. Like everyone said they loved your "stories" but I would give anything to hear one right now. I am glad you shared your love for hunting with my children I am sure they will make you proud each and every day. My favorite memory with you and the kids is when you were babysitting and you sent me a picture on my phone. Then a text saying not to pay the Ransom .. my kids had tied you up and even used Taylors Pink duct tape for your mouth. This is something I will never forget, ever.

You have raised great kids even after when we were adults; we admire your strength, courage, compassion and most of all unconditional love.

My favorite memory in the past 18 months is when I got a phone call from the rehab center telling me not to bring you Jolly Ranchers anymore. You see for some who didn't know you were in the hospital/rehab center from Oct 2013-Aug 2014 and each time, EACH time but three times (one he was in the ER and couldn't have them, second I forgot them at home and third was the last visit I had , last night into the morning) You may have not known which day it was and I swore I told you Skeeter dying 20 times but with your Dementia you always knew I brought you candies, especially Worthers candies. Anyways to the fun memory- your sugar went up over 500 and that was because you ate both bags I brought you that day one after another. One bag was worthers and the other jolly ranchers(non sugar free) and the nurse asked for the remaining bag and you were not too fond of her... you spit the jolly rancher out and said HERE TAKE THAT. It was the funniest thing ever.

Dad you were strong, you endured so many things in your life and keep your head up. I made you a promise last night and I promise to keep it! I love you more than you could ever know!

You baby girl,

Angela
