Obituary for Wilbur D. Woodcox

Wilbur D. Woodcox, 83, of Coldwater, died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.





A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010at 2:00 PM at Knauss Cemetery in Kinderhook Township. Pastor Jim Erwin of the Bethel Gilead Community Church will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #52 Drill Team. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Wilbur was born May 6, 1927 in Bethel Township to Harry and Gladys (Trumbull) Woodcox.





Wilbur was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as a paratrooper with the U. S. Army. He lived most of his life in the Branch County area. Mr. Woodcox had worked at the L.A. Darling Co. for 33 years, then at Wheeltech in Fremont, Indiana for 5 years, retiring in 1989.





He is survived by his wife Betty, his son Mark (Dawn) Woodcox of Coldwater, his sisters Norma Jean Woodcox of Vicksburg, Maxine (Larry) Burch of Fremont, IN, his grandchildren Michael (Sara) Woodcox of Bronson, Michelle (Joe) Estrada of Shallow Water, TX, Geoff Woodcox of Cooperstown, NY and for great grandchildren.





Wilbur was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, 2 sisters and his infant son, Keith Dean Woodcox, in 1950.





Memorial donations may be directed to Maple Lawn Activity Fund or The American Heart Association .
