Obituary for
Terry L. Hutchins
Terry L. Hutchins, 71, of Coldwater, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015 at his home.
A memorial service will be Friday, September 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor David Pierce from the Coldwater First Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Terry was born September 28, 1943 in Coldwater, MI to Clyde & Betty (Myers) Hutchins. At the age of 5 he received his first pony as a birthday gift and joined the family business raising and selling quarter horses.
Terry graduated from Coldwater High School in 1961, attended apprentice school and attained his journeyman plumber license. On December 4, 1965, Terry married Nancy Fry in Coldwater. Together, they built their home and lived on the family farm on Rose Road until his death.
As a plumber, Terry worked for McMillan Plumbing and Heating. He later worked at White Supply, ATL and Michigan Gas Utilities where he retired in 2010 with 30 years of service.
Mr. Hutchins was a member of United Commercial Travelers, serving as Grand Treasurer for the State of Michigan. He also belonged to the Coldwater Elks and Eagles and the Moose Lodge of Fremont, IN. Terry enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren compete in high school and recreational sports. He loved being outdoors, particularly camping at Potawatomie RV Campground. Terry will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor and sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Terry is survived by his wife Nancy, his children David Hutchins of Bronson, Cheryl (Clinton) Reincke, his mother Betty Hutchins, grandchildren Skylar, Shawn and Haley Reincke all of Coldwater. He was preceded in death by his father Clyde and his brother Gerry Hutchins.
