Richard “R.D.” D. Jones, 76, of Coldwater died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.





A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy followed by a gathering of family & friends from 1 - 3:00 PM at Waterworks Park in Coldwater.





R. D. was born May 9, 1934 in Springport, Michigan to Allen & Ida Ruth (McDonald) Jones. He married Nancy Hiebert, she preceded him in death. He then married Linda Moffett.





Mr. Jones owned and operated many timber companies. He loved the outdoors, and was an avid golfer. R.D. enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and attending their sporting events.




He is survived by his son Rick Jones of Sturgis, his daughters Terry Jones of Ludington, Shanna Jones of Hampton, VA, Angie Blackburn of S. Port, NC, Amber (Jeff) Waterbury of Bellevue, his grandchildren Corey Blackburn, Brandon Waterbury, Cole Blackburn, Richard Jones, Tyler Waterbury, and longtime friend Joe Normandin of Quincy. He was preceded in death by his parents.
