Obituary for Paul T. McElvain

Paul Thomas McElvain, 77, of Coldwater died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at his home.


The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor David Anderson officiating.


Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater with Military Honots provided by the American Legion #52 Drill Team.


Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 3-8 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.





Paul was born June 29, 1933 in Louisburg, Ohio to Thomas and Helen (Wilson) McElvain.





He married Joyce Carper on April 27, 1956 in Angola, Indiana.


Mr. McElvain was a senior Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, retiring in 1973 after 21 years in the service. He loved to fix things and opened Max’s Mobile Home Maintenance in Coldwater which he operated for a few years. Paul had served as Asst. Manager of the Coldwater Airport and enjoyed bowling on a league. He was a lifetime member of the Coldwater V.F.W., American Legion and AMVETS. Paul enjoyed TV and computers, watching football and building model airplanes.


Paul is survived by his wife Joyce, his daughters Jeanine McElvain of New Haven, Susan Stahlhood of Quincy, his grandchildren Nicholas (Samantha Shaffer) Stahlhood, Cody Stahlhood all of Coldwater and his best friend Keith Welch.


He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Thomas McElvain.
