Norman C. Kistel, 90, of Coldwater, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012 at The Laurels of Coldwater.
The service for Norman will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater, with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Girard. Visitation will be Monday, April 2, 2012 from 6 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Norman was born October 11, 1921 in Chicago, IL to Eric & Emma (Zeigler) Kistel. He married Janet Stehlik on May 28, 1942 in Coldwater. She preceded him in death on June 19, 2001.
Norman served in the US Army and was a veteran of WWII. Following his military career, he began driving truck and worked for Commercial Carriers in Detroit from 1951 until his retirement in 1983.
Mr. Kistel was a former member of the Good Sam’s RV Club and an avid outdoorsman who loved gardening, hunting, fishing and maintaining his yard.
He is survived by his son Jack Kistel of Coldwater, his grandchildren Mark Kistel of Coldwater, Marcia (Chad) Curtis of Coldwater, his great grandchildren Geoff Barry, Megan Barry, Taylor Kistel and Kaitlynn Kistel. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Janean Kistel.
