Michael “Mike” Kent McNees, 65, of Coldwater passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Funeral services will take place at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Bethel Gilead Community Church with Pastor Jim Erwin officiating. Interment will follow at East Gilead Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Bethel Gilead Community Church prior to the funeral service.
Mike was born June 25, 1950 to Durward and Blanche (Nutt) McNees in Coldwater. He married Sherry Modert on August 15, 1970 in Bronson, Michigan.
He was employed as a lineman and senior construction technician with Verizon Communications for 34 years retiring in 2005.
Mike enjoyed hunting, farming, working on his tractors. He was a very generous and giving person, but he was especially known as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mike is survived by his wife Sherry; his children Melissa McNees of Coldwater and Corey (Angela) McNees of Coldwater; his grandchildren Courtney and Alexis McNees of Coldwater; his aunts Mabel Stearns of Jenison, Michigan and Thelma Rain of Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents.
