Marvin Joseph Liberty, 81, of Coldwater, formerly of Westland, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Marvin was born July 4, 1934 to Roger Liberty and Clara Konczal in Detroit, Michigan. He married Beverly A. Beaver on June 19, 1954 in Wayne, Michigan and she preceded him in death on July 17, 2013.
Marvin worked as a firefighter with the city of Westland for 25 years, retiring as a captain. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and World War II history. He was also an excellent care taker for his late wife Beverly, and he will be remembered as being a great father, father in law and grandfather.
Marvin is survived by his children; Steven (Beverly) Liberty of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Marvin (Robyn) Liberty of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Lynn (Kurt) Weichert of Livonia, Michigan and Susan (Steven) Szakal of Hartford, Michigan; his 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his brother, Roger (Elizabeth) Liberty of Jerome, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Beverly.
