Obituary for Marjorie E. Robertson

Marjorie E. Robertson, 97, formerly of the Marshall and Battle Creek area, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Ft. Wayne.
A service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper of Lockwood Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 4 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Marjorie was born March 16, 1914 in Marshall, Michigan to Darwin and Bertha (Lockwood) Burrows.
Marjorie attended school and graduated in Marshall. After graduation, she attended cosmetology and beauty school in Battle Creek and was employed at the Dutchess Beauty Salon. She also worked at Kellogg’s Co. for 15 years and at K-Mart for 10 years before retiring at age 66. She attended art classes at KCC after retiring and was a member of the Battle Creek Society of Artists where she served as president and secretary. While living in Battle Creek, she was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Urbandale and lived at Bent Tree Apartments for 20 years. She enjoyed her art work, and did many beautiful oil and water color paintings. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, and volunteering at the Salvation Army soup kitchen. In June of 2001 Marjorie moved to Coldwater to live with her daughter Carole and attended the Lockwood Community Church. In March of 2011, Marjorie moved with her daughter Carole to Ft. Wayne, IN.
Marjorie is survived by her two daughters, & Carole (Ron) Poehler of Ft. Wayne, IN and Sallie (Frost) Winans of South Haven, MI, her sister Kathleen Winchell of Battle Creek, 3 nephews, and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Duane Burrows, three husbands (Pascal Carr, Seth Cushman and James Robertson), her son Keith Cushman, grandson Brian Cushman and great granddaughter Alysse Cushman.
