Marjorie J. Butler
Marjorie J. Butler, 81, of Coldwater, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 12 noon at the Oak Grove Cemetery chapel in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper from Lockwood Community Church officiating. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Marjorie was born January 12, 1931 in Coldwater, MI to Floyd & Clara (Yuhl) Raymond. She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1949 and married Phil Ferguson in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1978. She married Robert Butler in 1988, he also preceded her in death in 1994.
Marjorie worked for the former Federal Mogul and then for the Michigan Dept. of Mental Health at the Coldwater State Home until her retirement in 1992. She was an active member of Lockwood Community Church where she enjoyed “Rockers,” the monthly potluck group. Marge loved to bowl and had been on a ladies league for many years and still bowled with the seniors at Midway Lanes. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed fishing.
Marjorie is survived by her foster son Mark (Elizabeth) Grindle of Coldwater, her grandsons Nick (Cassie) Ferguson, Tony (Nicki) Ferguson all of Sturgis, her great grandchildren Reese Ferguson, Camiela & Avery Ferguson, and her very special friend Keith Pollock of Coldwater. In addition to both her husbands, she was also preceded in death by her son Roger Ferguson and 3 brothers.
