Obituary for Loretta M. Squires

Loretta M.  Squires
Loretta Mae Squires, 77 of Coldwater passed away suddenly while at work on Friday, December 04, 2015 at Maple Lawn in Coldwater.

A funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at East Gilead Missionary Church in Coldwater. Interment will follow at East Gilead Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 7, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Loretta was born March 23, 1938 to Robert and Mehala “Rosetta” (Ryder) Richards in Saint Mary’s, Ohio. After graduation from high school, she attended Kellogg Community College studying to be a Certified Dietary Manager. Loretta worked in Coldwater at Maple Lawn where she was the Dietary Manager for many years, retiring from full-time work after 30 years. She missed her job so much, she continued working part-time. On July 25, 1956 Loretta married the love of her life, Harry Squires in Decatur, Indiana.

Loretta was a woman of faith and a long-time member at East Gilead Missionary Church, where she helped in many capacities. She always put her family first and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Loretta enjoyed reading, doing puzzles during the winter months, and mowing the yard on her John Deere in the summer. She will be remembered as a very giving, selfless, and loving woman. Loretta will be missed by many.

Mrs. Squires is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harry Squires; her children Cindy (Jeff) Robertson of Bronson, Chris (Marc) Hendrick of Coldwater, Dan (Susan) Squires of Pittsford, Becky (Kevin) Thomas of Coldwater, and Paul (Rietta) Squires of White Pine; her sisters Beverly (Dillon) Diegel of Lebanon, OH, and Sharon McGeee of Celina, OH; her grandchildren Bridget, Jennifer, Robie, Jacob, Amanda, Courtney, Nick, Tyler, Justin, Brittany, Morgan, and Cameron; and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
