Loretta I. Deal, 86, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
The funeral service will be Monday, April 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Nelson Brandymore from the Coldwater Free Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Loretta was born August 26, 1926 in Coldwater to Samuel E. & Iola (Cleveland) Deal.
Ms. Deal had been a lifelong resident of the Coldwater area and was proud to have attended one of the local “one room schoolhouses.” She worked for many years at Federal Mogul and the former Coldwater Regional Center. She later became a corrections officer and had worked at Jackson State Prison, eventually being transferred back to work at the prison in Coldwater where she retired from around 1989.
In her younger years, Loretta had played softball and was also an avid bowler playing on many leagues. She enjoyed watching sports and loved to go to Waterworks Park to watch baseball. She had a great fondness for all animals, especially cats and dogs.
Loretta is survived by her brothers Ben (Georgetta) Deal of Williamsburg, VA, Leonard (Jeanie) Deal of Lima, OH, Ed (Alieda) Deal of Coldwater, several half brothers, a half sister and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Sylvie Sewell and Elnora Paddock.
