Obituary for Larry E. Fredrick

Larry E. Fredrick, 66, of Coldwater, MI, formerly of Fayette, OH, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at his home.





Larry was born on March 30, 1944 to Von Dana and LaJean (Martin) Fredrick in Morenci, Michigan. Larry was raised in Fayette and graduated from Fayette High School, class of 1962. He married his high school sweetheart, Louise Leininger on September 12, 1964 at the Fayette Christian Church, where they are still members today.





Larry and Louise moved to Sullivan, Illinois in 1987 and then to Coldwater, Michigan in 1990. He had worked as an engineer at Fayette Tubular for many years before going to work for G & J Tube, formerly Jonesville Products. He retired from G & J in 2009 after 20 years of service.





Mr. Fredrick was very involved in his community throughout the years. He was named “Fayette Citizen of the Year” in 1987 and was given the Phillips-Schrock Community Service Award. He served on the Fayette Park Board, Fayette Fine Arts Council, the Jaycees and was the church Treasurer for many years. In the past two years, Larry, along with his wife, served as dance instructors in the Branch County area.





Larry enjoyed dancing, fishing, golfing and helping his wife in the garden. He was a big fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and the Ohio State University teams. His greatest love in his life was spending cherished time with his children and grandchildren.





Mr. Fredrick is survived by his wife, Louise, son Leslie (Lori) Fredrick of Archbold, OH, daughter Lisa (Mike) Tietje of Berkey, OH, sister Pamela (Ken) Hibbard of Fayette, OH, grandchildren, Emily Fredrick, Kevin Fredrick, Stacia Tietje and Allison Tietje. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Lane.





Visitation will be held Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Fayette Christian Church (Disciples) with Tom Spiess and Pastor Gene Sugg officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.





Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Fayette Christian Church (Disciples).
