Janice L. Fifer, 79, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Laurels of Coldwater.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 1 - 6:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Coldwater United Methodist Church with Pastor Edyre Maurer officiating. The family will again receive friends at the church, prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM.
Janice was born August 3, 1936 in Coldwater to Wendell and Myrtle (Forrister) Fickle . She married Willis (Bill) Fifer on April 18, 1954 in Coldwater.
Janice retired from GM Tech Center. She was a Shawnee Shoals board member, a member of the Red Hat Society, Relay for Life, United Methodist Women’s Group (Ester Circle) and Coldwater Garden Club. She was also an usher at Tibbits Theatre, volunteered at Masonville House, Secretary of Sterling Heights Baseball/Softball Club, a Parks & Rec Basketball coach, Michigan State Fair Superintendant of Crafts, Messmore Elementary PTO President and she received an award from Utica Community Schools for her Volunteer Service. Janice especially enjoyed reading, gardening and attending her grandchildren’s activities.
Janice was the beloved wife of Bill, dear mother to Jodi (John), Jackie and Jeff. Loving grandmother of Jayme, John, Jeremy, Caity, Carly, Cassie, Leah and Jeffry Jr. and great grandmother to Brantley, sister of Connie (James) Wood and Sue Carpenter, and aunt to several nieces and nephews.
