Obituary for Henry A. Leaf Jr.

Henry A. Leaf, Jr., 62, of Coldwater, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM with the Rosary to be recited at 12:30 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. The Mass of Christian Burial will also be held on Friday, November 4, 2010 at 1:00 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater. Rev. Fr. Richard Fritz will officiate.
Henry was born March 15, 1948 in Coldwater, Michigan to Henry & Phyllis (Borgert) Leaf.
He married Ruth M. Schumacher on July 24, 1976 in White Pigeon.
Mr. Leaf graduated from Three Rivers High School and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church. He had a passion for farming and had worked on the family farm for many years. Henry was a truck driver for Drake Casket Company and worked in various local foundries, including the former Midwest Foundry. Henry spent many years in healthcare, having worked at the former Coldwater State Home, Ypsilanti State Hospital and most recently for Adapt. He served as a special Eucharistic Minister from 1979-1992 at Immaculate Conception, Three Rivers and St. Joseph’s in White Pigeon.
He loved to study maps and enjoyed collecting items with trains. Most of all, Henry loved spending time with his family, his children and grandchildren were the center of his life.
Mr. Leaf is survived by his wife Ruth, his son Tracy Leaf of Bronson, his daughter Trudy Phair of Coldwater, his mother Phyllis Worley of Coldwater, his brothers William (Joy) Leaf of Florida, Alvin (Andie) Worley of Coldwater, his sisters Sandra Thayer of Florida, Cherri (Barry) Mullen of Tennessee, Patricia VanAken of Coldwater, Judith (Elwin) Bohne of Colon, his grandchildren Nick, Katie & Jake, Caleb, Nathan, Natalie, Hannah, and Hailey, 1 great grandchild on the way and several nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his father.
