Obituary for Helen A. Hrehowsik

Helen A. Hrehowsik, 97, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Drew’s Place in Coldwater.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 1:30 PM at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Richard Fritz officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 5 – 7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Interment will be held at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Hoplelawn , New Jersey.
Helen was born September 14, 1914 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to John and Anna (Dupay) Lacko. She married Joseph Hrehowsik on May 18, 1935 in Perth Amboy, NJ. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Helen lived most of her life in Perth Amboy, NJ, where she was very active in the senior group through Holy Trinity Church. She moved to the Coldwater area 19 years ago. She was a former member of the St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater, and was currently a member of St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson.
Helen enjoyed traveling, having visited cities, in the United States, Canada and Europe. She particularly enjoyed trips with friends to casinos in Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Michigan. She possessed a talent for growing indoor plants and decorating her dollhouse. She excelled at needlepoint and crewel creating many beautiful designs. She enjoyed cooking and expressed her love through her kitchen talents. Helen’s life was defined by love and caring for family and friends, asking little and giving much. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Helen is survived by her daughter Bonnie (Jim) Lavelline of Coldwater, and her grandson Joe Lavelline of Monroe, Michigan. Helen and Joe had a very special relationship since his birth. She is missed already and her life will be a source of fond remembrances to her family.
In addition to her husband Joseph, she was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers.
