Obituary for Grady E. Fletcher

Grady Eugene Fletcher, 77, of Lawrence, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Community Health Center of Branch County in Coldwater surrounded by loved ones.



A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the United Methodist Church on Exchange Street in Lawrence.



Grady was born on July 9, 1933 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to William and Elizabeth (Mullwee) Fletcher. He moved to Michigan over 40 years ago and had lived in the Berrien/Van Buren County area. He retired from a manufacturing job nearly 30 years ago.



Mr. Fletcher was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church and was very involved with the church food pantry. He loved fishing, country music, photography and helping neighbors, serving as their handyman. He especially loved children and was known as grandpa to many.



He is survived by his sons Larry Fletcher of Douglas and Randy Fletcher of Stevensville, 3 step-children, a brother, 2 sisters, the love of his life, “Joy Bell” (Joyce Harris)of Quincy and her family, Bonnie (Bruce) Abrams of Lawrence, the late Rhonda (Charles) Spangler, Janie (Mark) Mohney of Quincy, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-daughter, Peggy Bradley.



Memorial contributions may be directed to the United Methodist Church in Lawrence.


Arrangements were cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
