Obituary for Geneva B. Waller

Geneva B. Waller, 83, of Quincy, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at her grandson’s residence in Coldwater.

A service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Dan Doctor officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Geneva was born February 9, 1927 in Steuben Co., IN to Byron & Arlene (Holiday) Slick. She married Leo A. Waller on August 30, 1946. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1987.

Geneva graduated from Pleasant Lake High School in Indiana. She worked for many years at Uniform Printing in Kendallville, IN, from which she eventually retired. Mrs. Waller was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary where she had served as past president. She had a vacation home on Archer Lake, moving to the Branch County area permanently in the late 1970’s. She was also a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater.

Geneva is survived by her grandson Todd (Casey) Waller of Coldwater, her granddaughters Tammy (Tim) Marshall of Dalton City, IL, Tricia (Josh) Posanka of Bourbonnais, IL, Vicki (Brian) Wicker of Bradley, IL, her sisters Lorene Youngs of Quincy, Gladys Deetz of Bryan, OH, daughter-in-law Patricia Waller of Quincy, and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Leo, Geneva was preceded in death by her son Allen Waller in 2008 and her sister Cleota Thompson.
