Gary J. Snyder

Gary Joe Snyder, 67, of Coldwater, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Bronson with Pastor Brian Mikul from Pomona Bible Church in Copemish officiating. Interment will follow at Knauss Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 5 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson.

Gary was born February 10, 1946 in Hillsdale, MI to Marion & Eula (Hall) Snyder. He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1964 and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Gary married Mary K. O’Dell on September 18, 1971 in Angola, IN.

Mr. Snyder had worked at the former Midwest Foundry, Aerqkuip in Marshall and Marshall Brass. He spent most of his career as a tool and die maker for Lakeshore Products in Quincy, where he had worked for 11 years.

Gary was a member of the Bronson First Baptist Church for over 30 years. He spent many years as a Boy Scout leader and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping. Cutting wood was one of his favorite pastimes and he greatly treasured the time he spent with his family.

Gary is survived by his wife Mary, his children Tami (Ron) Wasson of Gladwin, Teresa (Brian) Mikul of Copemish, Tim Snyder and Catherine (Tony Watkins) Snyder all of Coldwater, his brothers Daryl (Nancy) Snyder, Tom Snyder, his sisters Carol Farish, Roberta (Bill) Capozzi, his grandchildren Bethany & Luke Wasson, Megan & Matthew Mikul, Kaylee Watkins, Keagan Leyo, Kortnie & Iris Watkins and many nieces and nephews.
