Obituary for Eva P. Roussey

Eva P. Roussey, 78, of Bronson, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Services for Eva will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson with Reverend Robert Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery in Bronson Township. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 2 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home.

Eva was born November 30, 1933 in Montgomery, PA to Alfred and Nora (Phillips) Neufer. She met her husband Gene Roussey while she was serving in the USO and they married on July 23, 1954 in Washington, D.C. He preceded her in death in November 1997.

Mrs. Roussey spent many years in Bronson and had worked at Transogram in Sturgis, Borg-Warner in Coldwater and Bills Steak House. She moved to Dallas, TX, with her husband, in 1983 and she worked for Minyards Food Store, retiring in 1997 when they returned to Bronson. Eva was a member of St. Mary of Assumption Church and the Bronson American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler, having bowled on 3 different leagues at one time, and competed in the Women’s Nationals for 15 years. Eva loved to travel, enjoyed playing slots at the casinos, and had a soft spot in her heart for animals, especially her dog “Petey,” and all her grand dogs, who she loved to spoil. Eva was a great cook and famous for her potato soup. She adored her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren and treated them all with the love of a true grandma. She was blessed by her many special friends and was always willing to do things for others.
Eva is survived by her sons Dominic (Linda) Roussey of Sullivan, IL, Richard (Paula) Roussey of Dallas, TX, Joseph (Teresa) Roussey of Bronson, her daughters Barbara Haley of Bronson, Tina (Greg) Wells of Coldwater, Debra (Peter) Hofman of Milwaukee, WI, Diana Roussey of Bronson, her special adopted son Jim Clark of Coldwater,her brothers Henry (Dorothy) Neufer of Muncy, PA, Lewis (Delores) Neufer of South Williamsport, PA,her sister-in-laws Dottie Stodder of Sarasota, FL, Pat Knopka of Buffalo, NY, and many grand, great and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Roussey was preceded in death by her son Thomas Roussey in 1958, daughter Carol Ann Roussey in 1975, brothers James and Clarence Neufer, sister Betty Harris and her great-grandson Owyn Spahr.
