Elena Stanevitchene, 83, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Coldwater with The Very Rev. Mark Vyverman officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. A visitation will take place on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM.
Elena was born November 28, 1932 to Alfonsas and Marija (Vilunaite) Peciulis in Sirvinty Raj, Raguvka, Lithuania. She completed 2 years of technical college in Lithuania. Elena married Pijus Stanevicius in January of 1958 in Vilnius, Lithuania and he passed away in May of 2001.
She worked at Midwest Foundry in Coldwater as a laborer from 1978 until 1989. She has also worked as a caretaker for her mother and as a housekeeper at Quality Inn in Coldwater for 5 years. Elena was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, going to the theater, crossword puzzles, visiting with people, her dogs and cats and she especially loved being surrounded by her family.
Elena is survived by her children; Vitmantas B. Stanevicius of Coldwater and Rolanda Jurate (Bezumentov) Bezumentoviene of Vilnius, Lithuania. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Alvydas V. Stanevicius and her sister Nijole Aksionaitiene.
