Darlene G. (Houtz) Myers, 49, of Coldwater, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at her home.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Quincy American Legion . Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Darlene was born May 14, 1962 in Coldwater to Dale & Agnes (Cavanaugh) Houtz. She had married Tim Bender and then John Myers.
Darlene was a manager and cook at the Coldwater Big Boy restaurant for 21 years, and then worked for 7 years at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in dietary. She was a former member of the Coldwater Eagles, where she had often volunteered with funeral dinners, and played on a softball team for many years. She loved the outdoors, especially camping and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Darlene is survived by her husband John, her son Joe Bender of Sherwood, her daughter Jessica Bender of Coldwater, stepchildren Steven Myers of Quincy, Cody Myers of Coldwater, her brothers and sisters Mike Houtz of AZ, Rick Babbitt, Bryon Houtz both of Jackson, Linda Klein of Bronson, Diana Doyle of Coldwater, Joann Hartwell of Louisiana, Susan Austin , Audrey Halliwell, Judy Taylor all of Jackson, Marlene Medler of N. Carolina, Marsha Danner, Donna Houtz both of Coldwater, her grandchildren Olivia and Ava Bender,step grandchild Riley Myers , great-grandchildren Kyla and Kyle Fee. She was preceded in death by both parents.
