Charles Turney Stewart- Pope, 77, of Coldwater passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Care Community of Battle Creek.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Visitation will take place from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Charles was born December 26, 1937 to Oliver C. Pope and Wilma (Frize) Snyder in Worthington, Minnesota. After moving to Michigan, he began a long career as a self- employed sign and commercial painter in the Coldwater area.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to music -including opera and he loved to tell a story to anyone who would listen.
Charles is survived by his children; Charles F. Pope III of Irons, Michigan, Casey (Lerma) Pope of Battle Creek, Michigan, Dee Dee (Corey) Smith of Charlotte, Michigan; step-children, Adam (Leanne) Pope of Battle Creek, Michigan, James Dean (Christi) Pope of Coldwater, Michigan, John (Kim) Pope of Battle Creek, Michigan, Christine (Kevin) Graham of Portland, Michigan, Martia Williams Stevens of Mt. Holmes, Idaho; his brother James O. Pope of Union City, Michigan; he is also survived by many Grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Oliver.
