Obituary for Cathleen J. Moffett

Cathleen J. Moffett, 56, of Coldwater, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at her home.
The funeral will be Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 12 Noon at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Cathy was born June 24, 1959 in Coldwater, MI to Elmer and Charlotte (Foy) Moffett. She graduated from Bronson High School in 1977 and attended Glen Oaks, where she had earned a basketball scholarship.
Cathy was currently a bus driver for the Coldwater Community Schools, where she had worked for many years. She loved the kids on her bus, some of whom had special needs. Cathy was passionate about helping them any way she could, and currently was promoting “Wheels for Miguel.” She was a great athlete and loved sports, especially watching her family and friends play. Cathy was an avid U of M fan. She loved to cook, read romance novels and had a fondness for animals, especially German Shepherds. Cathy was very giving to others, she had little but gave lots.
Cathy is survived by her daughter Erica Fitch of Council Bluffs, IA, her brothers and sisters Pepper VanBlarcom of Bronson, Penny (Vergne) Gregrich of North Port, FL, Mike (Sherri) Moffett of Erlanger, KY, Colleen (Hal) Fitch of Coldwater, Monte (Karen) Moffett of Porter, IN, Marty (Linda) Moffett of League City, TX, her longtime childhood friend Paula Hollister of Bronson, friend Cherlyn Ritsema of Gobles, former husband John Perry of Union City and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband Kim Fitch and brother-in-law Stan VanBlarcom.
Memorials may be directed to Waldron Center or Wheels for Miguel.
