Barbara Joan Heator, 83, of Coldwater, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at her home.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 25, 2015 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater with Pastor John Major officiating of Victory Life Church in Battle Creek.
Barbara was born July 8, 1932 to Harold and Evangeline (Hess) Goodale in Battle Creek, Michigan. She graduated from Coldwater High School and went on to work as a book keeper for Coldwater Livestock for many years. Barbara married Robert Heator in October of 1953 in Coldwater and he preceded her in death on August 7, 1983.
She volunteered and worked for the Humane Society of Branch County where she was known as the cat lady. She enjoyed reading, was a big fan of the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers, but she especially loved going to her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Barbara is survived by her children Teresa (Jerry) Topp of Quincy and Cathleen (Pam) Heator of Buchanan; her special niece Deb Osborne of Tekonsha; her special nephews Harold Rodgers of Coldwater and Paul Rodgers of Litchfield. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Judith Blair; her sister Helen Rodgers and her brother Harold Goodale Jr.
