Obituary for Adeline M. Bodine

Adeline M. Bodine, 97, of Bronson was called home on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater surrounded by her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Richard Fritz officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bronson. Visitation will take place on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 6:00- 8:00 PM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM.
Adeline was born on May 25, 1918 in Joliet, Illinois to John and Johanna (Kulpinski) Blaskie. She graduated from Bronson High School in 1936. She married Edward J. Bodine Sr. on May 23, 1942 in Joliet, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her son Edward Jr. on November 14, 2013 and by 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Adeline was a member of St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson. She was a member of St. Mary’s Christian Services, she worked at Grandma’s Attic, Fall Festival Committee, Red Cross Blood Drives, Bronson Food Pantry and the Right to Life booth at the Branch County Fair. She was the Polish Festival Queen in 1997. She was a Board member of the Right to Life of Branch County, she attended the annual March for Life in Washington, DC eleven times. She was also a member of the DAV Auxillary.
Her joy in life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and attending religious conferences.
She is survived by her children, Marie (Richard) Wrobel, Bernadette Rieger, Charles Bodine all of Bronson, daughter –in-law Shirley Bodine of Coldwater, Therese (Paul) Miller of Mason, Michigan, Diane (Wallace) Briones of Joliet, Illinois and Gayle (Miguel) Valdez of Franklin Park, Illinois; 15 grandchildren: Jeffrey and Carissa Bodine, Lisa Mousseau, Suzanne, Christopher and Brian Wrobel, Mark Rieger and Nicole Rieger-Thomas, Tom and Janice Miller, Louis Briones, Rachel, Isabella, Michael and Gabriela Valdez; 7 great-grandchildren: Avery Bodine, Madison and Abigail Wrobel, Allison, Christopher and Alexa Rieger and Cierra Briones and a very special niece Jeanette Kehoe of Sturgis.
Adeline (Addy)’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the staffs at Drew’s Place and Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility and Southern Care Hospice for their abundance of loving care for Addy and all the unwavering support to our family.
