Obituary for Peggy N. Macklem

Peggy N.  Macklem
Peggy Neal Drake Macklem, 90, of Coldwater, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Grand Vista of Coldwater.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Rev. Dr. Rene Whitaker , Pastor First Presbyterian Church in Coldwater officiating. Interment will follow at Lockwood Cemetery in Ovid Township. Visitation will take place on Monday, June 13, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Peggy was born December 10, 1925 to H. Odell and Inez (Nelon) Drake in Biltmore, N. Carolina. She graduated from Lansing Sexton High School in 1944. Peggy married James C. Macklem on June 19, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1992.
She had worked as a secretary for Lansing Sexton High School, Homer Foundry Company, Coldwater State Home and Training School and lastly at First Presbyterian Church in Coldwater.
Peggy was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Coldwater and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority since 1950. She served on the Session and Board of Directors at First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, reading and following the stock and financial markets.
Peggy is survived by her children, Drake C. (Tarina) Macklem of Coldwater and Brooks J. (Cathy) Macklem of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; her grandchildren, Traci Macklem of Coldwater, Clayton (Jessica) Macklem of Coldwater, Catie (Jim Blevins) Macklem of Akron, Ohio, Gregory Macklem of Akron, Ohio, Chad Simonds of Jonesville and Gary (Becky) Simonds of Coldwater; her great grandchildren, Madelyn, Charles, Bailee, Owen, Mallirey, Chloe, Callie, Lincoln and Charlotte; her brothers H. Dennis (Linda) Moore of Lansing and Mark A. (Ginger) Moore of Lansing and her sister in law Linda J. Moore of Brighton. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her step fathers Howard D. Moore and Chester A. Miller and her brother Vance L. Moore.
