Loraine Brooks, 78, of Coldwater, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at her home.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial of her ashes will be at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha.
Loraine was born March 29, 1937 to George and Vae (Derickson) Brott in Burlington, Michigan. Her marriage to Dean Brooks of Union City, Michigan ended in divorce. Loraine worked as a packager at the Kellogg Cereal Company in Battle Creek for 25 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Coldwater, the Coldwater Garden and Herb Club and the Coldwater Red Hat Society. Loraine volunteered at CHC of Branch County, the CHC Great Hospice Duck Race and she would drive and sit with cancer patients for their appointments. She was known for crocheting many hats for babies as well as knitting and reading.
Loraine is survived by her grandchildren Paul and Jerrod Robinson; her brother Robert (Barbara) Brott of Union City. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Larry Dean Brooks, her daughter Constance (Connie) Renek and her sister Clara Lee Arnold.
