Obituary for Calvin Lilly

Calvin Lilly, 85, of Bronson, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015 surrounded by his family at home.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Church with Pastor Cory Weatherton officiating. There will be a visitation for one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Fry Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson.
Calvin was born on January 1, 1930 to Marshall and Caroline (Thurber) Lilly at their home in Bronson. He graduated from Bronson High School. Calvin married Deb Reynolds on October 29, 1982 in Coldwater.
He was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Church, the Gideon’s, the Christian Motorcycle Association and the Christian Bowling Leagues in Bronson and Coldwater,
Calvin was a lifelong farmer, but he also enjoyed riding motorcycles and driving the Amish to different work sites and other places. He especially loved being with his family and attending as many sporting events that his grandchildren were involved in.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Deb of Bronson; his children Sharon (Stan) Runyon of Portage, Rose (Javier) Lopez of Canton, Georgia, Jeannie Gerchow of White Pigeon, Elaine (John) Mounts of Brunswick, Ohio, Steve Lilly of Sturgis, Keri (Bryan) Zimmerman of Hillsdale and Kevin (Natalie) Lilly of Bronson; his grandchildren Nathan (Nicole) Runyon, Phillip Runyon, Angela (Tony) Halaby, Theresa (Dan) Rinehart, Dawn (Rick) Parker, Carol (Rodrigo) Lopez, Lori (Trevor) Hochstedler, Marcy (Charlie Ridley) Gayheart, Marlaina (Jim) Rarrick, Carol (Brian) Karr, Trista Edwards, Lukacs Zimmerman, Logan Zimmerman, Landon Zimmerman, Dylan Lilly, MaKayla Lilly, Samantha Lilly and Joshua Lilly; 24 great grandchildren ; 2 great great grandchildren; his brothers Don (Doris June) Lilly of Blountstown, Florida, Lloyd (Barbara) Lilly of Goshen, Indiana, Gordon (Rebecca) Lilly of Branson, Missouri. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Vera Lilly, his grandson David Runyon and his son in law Jim Gerchow.
Memorials may be directed to Pleasant Hill Missionary Church, Sturgis Hospice or the Gideon’s.
