Sam Martin, 74, of Union City passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015 at his home while surrounded by family.
A private Mass has taken place and interment with Military Honors was done at Riverside Cemetery in Union City.
Sam was born June 14, 1941 to Emile and Julia (McCarty) Martin in Genoa, Ohio. After graduation from college, he began his life-long career of farming. On January 1, 1969 he married the love of his life, Maria Delgado in Weslaco, Texas. Sam proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War.
Sam was a loving family man. He was self-employed working his farm, was a man of faith, and involved in the Catholic Church. He also enjoyed doing woodworking and making custom cabinetry in his workshop.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Maria Martin of Union City; his children Rex Martin, Tony (Paula) Martin, Andrea (David) Hasbrouck, Frank (Lisa) Martin, Kateri Duckworth, Isaac (Alexa) Martin, Dymphna Martin, Filumena (Nathan Setzer) Martin; his grandchildren Dominic, Valerie, Matthew, Joshua, Jacob, Daniel, Samantha, Sam, Dean, Levi , Jacob, Alaina, Magdalynn, and Genevieve. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Yolanda Martin at the early age of three. www.dutcherfh.com
