Mary Joan Harwood, 83, of Coldwater, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Maple Lawn.
The funeral service will be Friday, November 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 6-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Joan was born January 24, 1931 in Sturgis, MI to Lynn & Effie (Stanley) Baker. She married Kenneth Harwood in 1954, he preceded her in death in 1974.
Mrs. Harwood spent most of her life in the Charlotte area where she and her husband operated a roadside fruit and vegetable market. They had a small farm where they also raised animals. Joan enjoyed knitting, gardening and spending time with her family.
Joan is survived by her daughter Darlene (Bob) Peterson of Tekonsha, her brother Jim (Margaret) Baker of Phoenix, AZ, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers Jerry and Stanley Baker and her sister Kathleen Fields.
