Sharon Marie Martinez, 70, of Bronson passed away Friday October 24, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, MI.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson, with Reverend Robert Baxter of the First Baptist Church in Bronson officiating. Interment will follow at Bronson Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday October 28, 2014 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home.
Sharon was born January 20, 1944 in Centerville, MI to Verl C. and Leah May (Burritt) Rumsey. She lived all her life, in the Bronson area. On December 30, 1963, she married her husband of 50 years Felix Martinez in Weslaco TX.
Sharon worked 20 years at Bronson Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide, she also worked as a home health aide.
She enjoyed playing cards, going to see her family, shopping and going to the casinos. Her most precious thing in life was her family.
Sharon is survived by her husband Felix, daughter Tonya M. (David Lackey) Martinez of LaGrange, IN, son Anthony W. (Mary Wilson) Martinez of Bronson; grandchildren Cameron S. Martinez, Bryce M. Martinez, and Daven Lackey; sister Ida May Lampman of Bronson; brothers Clifford Rumsey, Ronnie Rumsey, Verl G. Rumsey, Carlon E. Rumsey all of Bronson, Norman D. Rumsey of Howe, IN; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, half-sister Betty Jane, brother Vernon D. Rumsey, a niece, a nephew, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law.
