Obituary for Sharon Johnson

Sharon J. Johnson, 73, of Bronson, passed away on Thursday, Novenber 28, 2013 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Marty Burdick officiating. Interment will follow at Matteson Cemetery in Matteson Township. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral on Tuesday, beginning at 11:00 A.M., also at the funeral home.
Sharon was born on October 25, 1940 in Carson City, Michigan to Max A. and Vada (Campbell) Blanchard. She moved to Mendon at a young age and graduated from Mendon High School in 1958. Soon after graduating, she married Robert E. Johnson at a church in Mendon on August 16 of that same year. He preceded her in death in 2004. The couple lived in Coldwater for several years before moving to Bronson in 1967 when Robert began working for Arnold’s Auto Parts.
In addition to being a homemaker, Sharon worked as a secretary for Stoke’s Marine, 20 years at Kilgore International and later at Dr. Stewart’s medical office. She attended Union City Wesleyan Church and was an avid bowler; sometimes bowling four nights a week at both Bronson and Coldwater. She enjoyed traveling and had lots of friends through the years. She just loved people and was easy to love. She loved watching all sorts of sports; especially the Tigers and her grandchildren’s sporting events. She adored her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children Ronald (Sue) Johnson and Shawn (Edward) Walker, Jr., both of union City, her brother Ron (Nancy) Blanchard of Vicksburg, her sister Pastor Charlene (Pastor David) Minger of Eaton Rapids, her grandchildren Ashley Walker, Kristen (Ted) Arnett, Kyle Johnson, Katie Johnson and her great-grandchildren Amaya Wyant, Madelyn Walker, Makenna Arnett, Dalton Arnett.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two infant brothers.
