Obituary for Marian E. Abramson

Marian E. (McNall) Abramson, 90, of Coldwater, was quietly summoned home to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 21, 2013. Her battle with cancer has ended and her heavenly life has begun. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Visitation for Marian will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. The service will be held Friday, April 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home with Pastor J. Arnold Fair of Faith Baptist Church in Angola and her good friend, Don Ankney, officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Union City.

Marian was born March 3, 1923, in Coldwater to Louie and Gladys (Reed) Densmore. On June 16, 1940, after her graduation from Union City High School, she married Kenneth McNall. Together they farmed for about 20 years in the Union City area. They then moved to Jones, MI, where they owned and operated Timberlane Motel for 10 years. Moving back to Coldwater, Marian worked for 14 years at the Coldwater Regional Center retiring in 1991. Kenny and Marian enjoyed nearly 47 years together before his death in 1987. In 1999 she married Marion J. Abramson of Coldwater who passed away in December 2002.

On Mother’s Day, May 8, 2005, Marian accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at Faith Baptist Church in Angola, where she often visited. It was there where she followed Him in Believer’s Baptism. She also attended Lockwood Community Church.

Marian loved being a homemaker and managed to keep a neat and orderly home (with meals always on time) no matter what her other responsibilities demanded. She had a merciful and generous heart (especially for her children) and loved to cook for others. She was skilled in handicrafts and enjoyed ceramics, painting, gardening, knitting, crocheting, sewing and especially quilting. After retiring she traveled, planted flowers, and volunteered for “Meals on Wheels”. She also enjoyed activities at the local senior centers, reading, making more quilts and especially her Chihuahua “Peaches”.

Marian is survived by one son, Jerry McNall of Crossville, TN, two daughters, Linda Soto of Livonia, and Cheryl (Gary) Stechschulte of Coldwater, one sister, Ruby Louise Sell of Coldwater, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Gary Lee McNall in 1944, her sister Waive Musselman, her brother William Densmore and her grandson Matthew Soto.

Memorials may be directed to Lockwood Community Church or Faith Baptist Church of Angola.
