Obituary for Yvonne Wasikowski

Yvonne Lee Wasikowski, 87, of Bronson, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday January 22, 2023.

Yvonne was born September 30, 1935, in Sturgis, MI to Maurice and Clara Ruth (Welker) Fair. Yvonne grew up in Mongo, Indiana, graduating from Springfield Township High School in 1953. After graduation Yvonne and her parents moved to a farm on Fenn Road, in Coldwater. It was there Yvonne met the love of her life John. Their first date was to the Marshall Fair in 1954, while John was home on leave from the Army. They continued to correspond while he finished his military service.

In early 1956, John finally gathered up the courage to ask her to marry him. They were married on October 27, 1956, and recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. John and Yvonne built a beautiful life together in Bronson on Central Road. In addition to raising 4 sons, Yvonne worked outside the home at various places in Branch County including L.A. Darling and First of America Bank.

Yvonne had a great love for her family, gardening, soap operas, NASCAR, Vince Gill and collecting purple Fenton glass. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook and baker, always having delicious cookies on hand when family and friends visited. She will also be remembered for her love of the color purple and being a comforting smile and hug to the family she dearly loved.

She is survived by her husband John, sons Anthony (Sharon) of Middleville, MI, Michael (Robyn) of Bronson MI, David (Dee) of Burlington, MI and Garry (Jamie) of Bronson MI; grandchildren Jennifer (Andrew) Tobias of Plainwell, MI, Lori (Michael) Morgan of Plainwell, MI, Eric Wasikowski of Burlington, MI, Jacob (Kayla) Wasikowski of Union City MI, and Tyler Wasikowski of Orland, IN and 1 great-grand child Mackenzie Wasikowski.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Terry Siler from The First Congregational Church officiating. Visitation will be held, prior to the service on Thursday, beginning at 12:00 PM. A private graveside service will follow at Snow Prairie Cemetery. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
