William N. "Bill"  Stempien
William N. Stempien, 78, of Coldwater, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at his home.
A memorial Mass will take place at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Very Rev. Mark Vyverman and Fr. Paul Redmond officiating. Military Honors will be presented after the Mass by Coldwater American Post #52. Visitation will be Friday, April 27, 2018 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. A private interment will take place at Lester Cemetery at a later date.
Bill was born August 15, 1939 in Romulus Michigan to Joseph and Helen (Koper) Stempien. He married Betty Jeanne Butters, she preceded him in death in 1989. He later married Linda Loomis on November 21, 1992. Bill has been self-employed as a woodworker for many years creating many types of crafts and household items.
Bill was a member of St. Charles Church, and the Coldwater Eagles. He enjoyed playing cards, especially poker and euchre. He also liked vegetable gardening and listening to music on vinyl records. He will be remembered for being generous with a heart of gold, and a great sense of humor. His true joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
In addition to his wife Linda, Bill is survived by his children Jeffery Stempien of Coldwater, Christopher (Jennifer) Stempien of Coldwater, Tracy Rider (Jeffery) of Quincy, Jamie (Joe Berry) Stempien of Coldwater, Billie (Kelli) Stempien of Coldwater, Gregory Holt of Fremont, Robert (Carrie) Holt of Coldwater, Tammy Wiltse (Andy) of St. Louis, MO, Todd Holt of Coldwater, Shelly Holt of Coldwater, Steve (Dawn) Holt of Coldwater, his sister Patricia Crow of Las Vegas, his brothers David Stempien (Paulette) of Quincy, Charles Stempien of Coldwater, Anthony (Carolyn) Stempien of Quincy, Robert (Carol) Stempien of Coldwater, 31 grandchildren. 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
