Obituary for Walter Ward, Sr.
Walter R. Ward, Sr., 87, of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Girard. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Walter was born February 23, 1934 in McKee, KY to Kager & Mary (Pennington) Ward. He married Shirley Brouse on October 25, 1968.
Mr. Ward has worked for Southern MI Bank and Trust for many years. He also worked for Hoff’s Vegetable Farm. Walter enjoyed working on cars and around his house, especially in the yard.
Walter is survived by his wife Shirley, his children Connie, Thelma, Walter Jr., Chester and Preston Ward; his brother Bruce Ward of McKee, KY, sister Virginia Custer of Coldwater; grandchildren Nicholas, Anthony, Austin, Justin, Terry, Elena and Autumn Ward. He was preceded in death by his daughters Elena and Nancy Ward; brothers Dewey, Herman and Leroy Ward; sisters Della Ward, Lillian Smith and Dorothy Farthing. www.dutcherfh.com.
