Walter S.  Deal
Walter S. Deal, 87, of Coldwater, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy with military honors provided by the Coldwater American Legion, Post # 52 Drill Team. Immediately following the burial, a service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Jesus Name Apostolic Church, 300 Smith St., Coldwater with Pastor Jeff Waid officiating. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Walter was born February 25, 1931 in Quincy, MI to Charles & Pauline (Biers) Deal. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Walter married Sandra Bussing October 13, 1984 in Coldwater, she preceded him in death on June 30, 2015.

Mr. Deal had driven trucks for various companies, snow plowed for the county and worked for Acme Belt & Recoating in Quincy. He belonged to the Moose Lodge and was quite the handyman and woodworker. Walter enjoyed gardening, canning, working puzzles and musical clocks. He was a good story teller and jokester with a great sense of humor. He loved his pets and raising rabbits.

Walter is survived by his children Dennis (Kim) Deal), Robin Peterson all of Texas, Cindy (Larry) Hood, Dawn Deal all of Michigan, step children Anita (Teg) Garn of Coldwater, Darlene Bussing of Battle Creek, his siblings Charles “Chuck” (Lila) Deal, Robert “Bobby” Deal all of Quincy, Donna (Ted) Rickett, Jillyne Rickett all of Sturgis, several biological grandchildren and great grandchildren, his step-grandchildren Jennifer Garn, Kevin Garn, Jason Pancost, Cassondra Kellogg, Allison Pancost, step-great grandchildren Rachael Peters, Calvin Garn, Grant Garn, Evelyn Garn, Autumn Burley, Jayden Burley, Matthew Burley, Braeden Pancost, Bryce Pancost, Brooke Pancost, Leon Hoffman.
