Obituary for Virgil E. Harmon

Virgil Elwood Harmon, 61 of Montgomery passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 at his home.

In following his wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will have a celebration of life at a later date. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.

Virgil was born January 9, 1961 to Virgil A. and Rhoda (Sours) Harmon in Angola, IN. He attended Quincy High School and spent many years working in manufacturing and construction until health reasons led him to an early retirement. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Virgil enjoyed listening to rock and country music. He had a soft spot for animals, pit bulls in particular. One of his favorite things to do was spending time with his family and close friends. Lately his true joy in life was babysitting his grandchildren. Virgil will be remembered for his caring, loving, and easy going personality as well as his willingness to help anyone in need. He will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved him.

Virgil is survived by his son Corey (Katie) Harmon of Allen; his fiancée June Fosdick of Montgomery; his grandchildren Camden & Sophia Harmon; his siblings Lance (Kathy) Harmon, Steve Harmon, Brian (Dawn) Harmon, and Brenda (Claire) Leskow; his nieces Kelsey Harmon, Amy Harmon, Misty Sedore, Bree Gladstone, Morgan Aemisegger, and Erin Emington; his nephews Levi Harmon and Andrew Leskow; and many great nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
