Ute Elisabeth Ernsberger (geb Herkle-Zeiske), 68 of Jonesville passed away at home on Saturday, April 7, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Interment will follow at Snow Prairie Cemetery in Bronson. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Ute was born October 13, 1949 to Erwin and Frieda (geb Herkle) Zeiske in Heidelberg, Germany. She married Don Ernsberger on September 29, 1967 in Heidelberg and they moved to Coldwater the same year.
She was employed at Shaw Shoe in Coldwater from 1968 until they closed, where she had served as a Union Steward and as Union President. Ute then went to work for Swift Armour Eckrich in Quincy from 1985 until her retirement in 2011.
Ute attended Countryside Bible Church in Jonesville. She enjoyed traveling around the world, flower gardening, the outdoors, being with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Ute is survived by her children; Penny (Gregory) St. Cyr of Caseville and Michael (Cheryl) Ernsberger of Coldwater, her grandchildren; Bo Wisneski of Maryville, Tennessee, Shea St. Cyr of Findlay, Ohio, Michael Ernsberger of Coldwater and Christine (Norman) Creech of Kendallville, Indiana, her great grandson; Isiah Creech of Kendallville, Indiana, her best friend; Pat Webster of Jonesville, her brother; Roland (Dorit) Hopfner of Mannheim, Germany, her brother in law; Lawrence (Gracie Houtz) Ernsberger of Coldwater, her sister in laws; Betty Bates of Coldwater, E. Joyce Ernsberger of Quincy and Sylvia Zeiske of Mannheim, Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother; Herbert Zeiske, her brother in laws; Wesley Bates and Frederick Ernsberger and her sister in law; Joyce Ernsberger.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Countryside Bible Church Youth Fund or Great Lakes Hospice.
