Susan Kaye Steffey, 79, of Coldwater, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Sue will be held at a later date.
She was born April 9, 1941 to Carlyle and Mary Ellen (Hill) Hayton in Coldwater. She graduated from Coldwater High School and on June 9, 1959 she married Donovan Steffey at the Episcopal Church in Coldwater and he survives. Susan had worked as the program coordinator at the Branch County Commission on Aging for nearly 20 years until her retirement. Susan had a passion for gardening; she had many plants and flowers that she cared for and also enjoyed her computer and putting together puzzles. She was a devoted wife of over 65 years, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and beloved sister that will be missed.
In addition to her husband Don, Susan is survived by her two sons Donovan (Kimn) Steffey II and Tommy (Mary) Steffey both of Coldwater; one sister Debra (Ken) Loose of Coldwater; her four grandchildren, Anna Steffey, Matt (Heather) Steffey, Eric Steffey, Laura (Elliot)Fowler, four great grandchildren, and one niece Stacy Winters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece Becky Loose.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society of the Branch County Commission on Aging.
