Obituary for Susan L. Sims
Susan L. Sims, 74, of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at home, surrounded by her family.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Josh Englehart from Agape Church officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 4-7:00 PM and on Friday, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Susan was born April 10, 1947 in Oak Park, IL to William & Priscilla (Swanson) Buchanan. She married George M. Sims, Sr. on April 19, 1965 in Coldwater. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2010.
Mrs. Sims was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, all while raising a family of 6 children and working full time. She spent many years waitressing at various restaurants, a long time supervisor at Acorn and spent 15 years at the Ft. Wayne Wal Mart until her retirement.
Susan had been an active member of the former Reformation Lutheran Church. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and all their activities.
Susan is survived by her children Laurie (Jon) Nash of Montgomery, John (Karyn) Sims of Coldwater, Karen Wallace of Coldwater, Mike (Kathi) Sims of Parma, George (Dale) Sims of Coldwater, Connie (Jon) Marsh of Coldwater, her sister Nancy Buchanan of Coldwater; 21 grandchildren ; 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
