Obituary for Sandra Kay Rogers

Sandra Kay Rogers, 78, of Coldwater, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Maple Lawn. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation services have been provided by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Sandra was born February 4, 1943 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Manuel & Mary Ellen (Skinner) Campos.
She was an Army brat living in 9 different states and also Japan and Germany. In 1961, while living in Augsburg, Germany, Sandra played on the “Chickettes” softball team where Elvis Presley had been a spectator for one of their games. When her family returned to the states, Fort Benning, GA, she worked at Culpeppers BBQ where she met the love of her life. Sandra married James S. Rogers on November 16, 1963 in Columbus, GA and they soon moved to Dearborn, MI, where they spent much of their life.
Sandy was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She was a very kind hearted person who adored her family, always putting them first.
Sandra is survived by her children Barbara (Scott) Bucy of Dearborn, Carol Rogers of Houghton Lake, William (Jennifer) Rogers of Coldwater, Richard (Marcia) Rogers of Georgetown, Tasmania, Australia, her siblings Shannon Smith, Richard Campos, Jeffrey Campos, her grandchildren Krystle Bucy, Katie Bucy, Alex Rogers, Beth Ann (Richard) Petrimoulx, Carol (James) Garcia, Michael Bachman, Ariel (Nathan) Afentakis, her great grandchildren Gavin & Spencer Petrimoulx, Joseph Blackmun, Alex Nichols and David Garcia. She was preceded in death by her husband James on Jan. 18, 2019 and her brother David Campos.
