Obituary for Ruth E. Barnes
Ruth E. Barnes, 96, of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Drew’s Place of Coldwater.
A private interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Ruth was born December 12, 1925 in Coldwater, MI to Elon and Bessie (Brown) Bertram. She married William Barnes on October 26, 1946 in Coldwater. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2002.
Mrs. Barnes worked at the former Plante Moran in Coldwater for many years. She enjoyed being a wife, mother and homemaker, reading and crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her children Linda (Larry) Dunn of Seabrook, TX, Wayne (Jayann Avery) Barnes of Coldwater, Richard (Lori) Barnes of Vicksburg, Marlene (Jim) Rockey of Allen; many grand, great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her great grandson Beckett VanLue.
