Obituary for Roy Nathanial Finley
Roy Nathanial Finley, 79, of Bronson passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at his home in Bronson. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Coldwater with Fr. Rick Schark officiating. A burial of ashes will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy, MI. The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
He was born June 16, 1943, the youngest of seven boys, to Mark and LaVirl (Williams) Finley in Quincy, MI. On June 27, 1964 Roy married Cheryl D. Hand and she survives. He was a man dedicated to service and to his community; Roy retired from the Branch County Road Commission after 38 years and continued to serve with the Branch County Sheriff’s Reserves for 51 years. Roy was a faithful member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Coldwater and had also been a member of the local Kiwanis Club. He will be dearly missed as loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
In addition to his wife Cheryl, Roy leaves behind his children Natalie (Brian) Weible of St. Augustine, FL, Michael Finley of Bronson, Charity (Mike) Hoard of Coldwater; his brothers Raymond Finley, Roland (JoAnn) Finley both of Quincy; his grandchildren Maegan, Tori, Sara and his two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Abigail Weible, and his brothers Harold, Robert, Ronald, and Ralph Finley.
