Obituary for Rolland "Buzz" Travelbee

Rolland “Buzz” Travelbee, 79, of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Maple Lawn.

The funeral service will be held Monday, March 2, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastors Gene and LaFern Cobb from the First Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home. Private family interment will follow at Batavia Cemetery.

Rolland was born June 11, 1940 in Coldwater, MI to Robert Travelbee & Wilhemina (Kohler) VanNuys. He married Ellen Closson on March 1, 1964 in Coldwater. She preceded him in death on October 1, 2019.

Buzz worked at Acorn in Quincy for 28 years, retiring in 2000. He also owned a side business “Knives by Buzz” making knives for many years. Buzz enjoyed fishing and trapping and was a gifted musician, playing guitar and singing. Buzz was a true family man caring for his wife Ellen until her passing. He loved all his family dearly.

Rolland is survived by his children Dale (Kim) Rinehart of Bronson, Linda Watson of Coldwater, Tim (Valerie) Rinehart of Defuniak Springs, FL, Rhonda Travelbee of Bonifay, FL, Darlene Handy of Quincy, his siblings Robert Travelbee of Coldwater, Rodney (Georgia) Travelbee of Coldwater, Randy (Karen) Travelbee of Coldwater, Echo (Stanley) Pott of Quincy, several grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Roger Travelbee.
