Obituary

Robert “Bob” William Jackson, 74, of Coldwater passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, IN. A funeral service for Bob will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 11:00AM at Lockwood Community Church in Coldwater with Dan Hefner officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 4:00-8:00PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Robert was born December 10, 1945 to Martin and Hettie (Kerr) Jackson in Napoleon, OH. He was a graduate of Napoleon High School and continued on to honorably serve his country in the United States Army. On September 4, 1965 he married Sandra Jaynes and she survives. Bob was the owner of Jackson Cleaners serving the surrounding areas for 55 years until his retirement. He had also spent an additional three years working at Cameron Hospital in Angola, IN. He served as the past Exalted Ruler of the Elks in Coldwater and Napoleon; he was member of the Coldwater and Napoleon American Legions, Kiwanis, Oddfellows, the Presbyterian Churches in both Coldwater and Napoleon, the Moose in Fremont, and Rotary Club in Wauseon and Napoleon. He sang in the church choir groups and a barbershop quartet as well. Bob was fun loving man that never met a stranger; he enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially turkey hunting. He and Sandy always found time for a good boat ride but what he loved most was spending time with his family and going to his grandchildren’s sporting events.
In addition to his wife Sandy, Robert is survived by his children Natalie (Randy) Meyer of Wauseon, OH, Patrick “P.J.” (Veronica) Jackson of Midlothian, VA, Angela Jackson of Coldwater; his siblings Jeanie Hatfield of Grand Rapids, OH, Marty (Judy) Jackson of Angola, IN; Susan (Jack) Rainbolt of Mt. Vernon, MO; eight grandchildren Courtney (Adam) Newton, Alexis Meyer, Hayley Meyer, Alyssa Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Robbie Jackson, Sam Cline, Stone (Davina Taylor) Bowles; one great grandson Dayne Bowles and many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter Emily, and one brother-in-law Don Hatfield.
Memorial donations are suggested to the family.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.

Bob was just one of those guys you always enjoyed seeing and who would just brighten your day. As a veteran, I always appreciated his support for the military and the true patriotism he displayed with his online postings. We will miss him!
