Obituary for Robert C. Edwards

Robert C. Edwards, 76, of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater with Rev. Fr. Paul Redmond and Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman officiating. Cremation will follow with interment of ashes at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bronson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 4 - 7:00 PM, with the Rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM, at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Bob was born July 28, 1945 in Troy, Ohio to Charles and Dorothy (Mattocks) Edwards. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Bob married Carol A. Rakocy on October 22, 1966 in Bronson.
Mr. Edwards earned his electrical degree from Kellogg Community College. He was an electrician/supervisor for Eckrich/ConAgra, retiring in 2007 after 29 years. He had previously worked for Kaiser Electric.
Bob was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church where he was very active with the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree. He dedicated many years to caring for the church building and grounds. He was a skilled woodworker and always looked forward to gathering with his card playing group. Bob was a man of great faith and very giving of himself to others. He took great pride in his family and treasured the time he spent with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife Carol; his children Marty (Emily Smith) Edwards of Montclair, NJ, Angie (Kevin) Belcher of Marshall; his grandchildren Kira and Brielle Belcher, all of whom he dearly loved; his brother Tom Edwards of Coldwater, sisters and brothers-in-law Kathy Edwards of New Carlisle, OH, Al Rakocy of Coldwater, Nancy Rakocy of Coldwater, Rose Rakocy of Colon and many nieces, nephews and friends, especially his Knights of Columbus family, his card group, and the breakfast clubs with his buddies. Bob was preceded in death by his step sister Janet Favorite and his step brother Larry Edwards.
